THE RELATIONSHIP CHALLENGE

Relationships are fundamental to our life experience and learning and yet they provide us with the greatest challenges. Just look at us, billions of people, all from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, cultures, faith and gender. We have different levels and types of educations, interests, opinions and preferences. In spite of all of this we have commonality ie we are humans who love and laugh and who simply ask for the very best for themselves and their families. In its simplest form, people want shelter, safety, nutrition, freedom, love and peace.

If this is so then why isn’t Earth resonating with the vibration of joy and peace? We can look outside of ourselves and complain about wars, manipulation and control and yet the larger world is only a macrocosm of our own experience.

Macrocosm (the larger world): Wars, hatred, murder, death

Microcosm (our local and inner world): We hate, criticize and judge thereby creating disharmonious relationships,. We keep hatred alive by talking unlovingly about others, – we are the chemical and biological warfare! Our lack of love creates our own inharmony, our own destruction.

“Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.”  The Buddah

Isn’t it true that if you knew someone didn’t like you, you would want them to acknowledge, or know about, some of the goodness that you know is you? With the exception of psychopaths and sociopaths, all humanity want goodness to flow in their lives and to experience that in others.

So, what then if you have people in your life who challenge your peace and tranquility?

You could wish they were different until the cows come home but we all know that all that wishing isn’t any value at all. You need to create peace by accepting your reality as it is, not as you would wish it to be.

If you have a relationship-challenge you can take this to the next level and tune into the magnificent Being behind the person. The puppeteer, creating a new and different experience from which all have the opportunity to grow. What might this look like, sound like, you may ask?

What then are the practical steps I would take to experience someone differently? I am not going to focus on their physical form or experience as I know that that is a flawed sense of who they are limited by human judgement and opinion. I know that there is one being which is thinking each of us into existence. This Being, or Source, Oneness, the God Source is infinite and exists always at the standpoint of perfection.

My steps are to daily:

1. Acknowledge their being as part of the Source, the same as yourself

2. Don’t think of them as a body with their designated name. Think of them as the grand and magnificent Light which they are. Feel the love for them as Source acting as an individual

3. Imagine the Light, the colour and vibrancy of the light that they radiate outwards and have it embrace and encompass you

4. Express gratitude and appreciation for the growth that is being created for you through this relationship with yourself!

5. Persist with this practice until you feel differently about them because you now know and appreciate who they really are.

THE ANT

THE ANT

Any child psychologist will tell you that a very small child can neither problem-solve nor remember its early childhood.  I would like to contest that ‘truth’.  I have a girlfriend who remembers clearly how it was to be born.  Wow, how interesting is that!  I, on the other hand, do not remember my birth, however, I do recall an event at the age of about 4 which has turned out to be quite profound insight into life on plant Earth.
One day, when my brother and sister were at school, I was cruising around the front yard on my own.  I remember I had black shoes, white socks and a lovely little cotton dress which had a delicate smocking across the bodice.
My attention was drawn to the ants that were making their way across the garden path from one garden bed to the other.  As I crouched down on my haunches I studied the ants on their journey and wondered what it would be like to be an ant and go down the ant hole that was located on one edge of the path.
I thought that the only way I could get down that ant hole and experience the life underground was to become an ant.  The thought rather appealed to me.  At that point  I experienced a massive shot of energy that passed right through my body from the soles of my feet to the top of my head.  It was almost like an electric shock but sort of pleasant. With that surge of energy came the realization that, if I became an ant, I would forget that I would forget myself and that once an ant I would not know how to get back to my real self.
I had remembered that event on occasions throughout my life but as I grew older and became more interested in spiritual things, I realized the power and context of this experience.
Are we not magnificent, powerful, creative beings who have put our thought into experiencing a reality that is not really true?  Have we not stepped into our earth suits and truly forgotten the wonder of who we really are?  And does it also not seem difficult to remember our Love, our Oneness, our Joy which are really what we are made of?
We think we are something we are not … human, separate, flawed.  Remember now that you are the most powerful, magnificent being in the Universe.  You know exactly how to truly love everyone and everything for the part they play in your earth game.  You are not separate from anything here … you are One.
Dance, twirl and sing to the truth of you being One, connected, loved and having All.  You are the Great Heart of Love Itself and without you the world would not even exist not to mention to turn on its axis.  You powerful being you!

THE FEATHER

As I walked along, in my dream, with my little dog I noticed a neighbourhood dog running aggressively towards us.  My dog, a petite and delicate little Chihuahua, was being charged at by a big, lumbering, overweight basset hound.  Although he came towards us aggressively, when he finally reached us, he became disinterested and just sniffed the grass.  No dog fight.
I looked up, as I walked on, to see a man on a bike coming around the corner towards us.  I knew intuitively that he meant me harm but I didn't know why but he didn't even know me, did he?
He took out of his pocket a plastic box which at one end was open and revealed the tip of a feather.  As I continued to walk he 'unleashed' a feather from its container and it came jetting dangerously towards me.  The first one just missed me and as I looked towards him I noticed more feathers being launched at me.
I knew I needed to act in some way so I stood and faced the feathers and as each one came towards me I commanded them to "miss me" which they did.
In the moment I realized that I wasn't handling this situation optimally.  Instead of directing each feather to miss me, I knew that what I was to do was to stand firm, face my attacker, and direct the feathers back to their source. I knew that I had the power to do that, as a matter of fact, I knew that I had more power than my attacker because I knew how to love.  One by one, each feather was turned around and sent back to their owner.  I had no fear nor malice and I knew that  whatever happened when the feathers returned to the man had nothing to do with me, if they harmed him it was because of what was in his mind, not mine.
As I wakened from my dream I remembered that the previous evening when dining with friends we discussed world events and all agreed that changes in our world needed to come from within each of us.  Furthermore, that we need to learn how to use our minds positively, powerfully and with mastery to create a world in which every single being experiences freedom, peace and joy.
It is useful to know that we are being 'attacked' daily by what appear to be benign things.  You can't get much more benign than a feather can you?  But as the dream demonstrates, the feather can be directed with malevolent intent and maybe with a power outside of our conscious awareness.
Television, print media, the internet, education are all benign forms of entertainment or resources, however, they are being used to mis-educate, manipulate and control us.  They all tell us that we are not good enough, that we are to blame for what is happening to our world and the ultimate lie, we are separate from each other.
It is time! It is time for those of us who are waking to our forgotten oneness to choose the mental station you would like your mind to be attuned to.  Today, choose love and oneness.  Remember that everyone who you think is outside of you is actually inside of your mind ... they are inside your own personal universe as you, conversely, are in theirs.  Love them for the part that they uniquely play in your growth, development and understanding of yourself.  We are all one magnificent, powerful, loving being and when we remember that we will literally empower ourselves into a completely new experience of ourselves and our world.
